Privacy Policy
InCalculate Last updated: May 4, 2026
1. Introduction
InCalculate ("we", "our", or "the app") is a financial tools and calculators platform designed to help users make informed financial decisions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use InCalculate.
By using InCalculate, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: Your name and email address when you sign in via Google OAuth
- Calculator inputs: Financial data you enter into our tools (investment amounts, goals, income, etc.)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, tools used, and time spent on the app
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Log data: IP address, access times, and error logs
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Google Sign-In: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password or access to any other Google services.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your InCalculate account
- Provide access to financial calculators and tools
- Save your calculation history and preferences
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Send important updates about the app (no marketing emails without consent)
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database and authentication platform. Data is stored on servers with industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Calculator inputs and results may be stored to allow you to resume previous sessions. From Profile → Data & privacy you can download a JSON export of your saved data and permanently delete your account.
4.1 Data controller
For the purposes of applicable privacy laws (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 where applicable), the data controller for personal data processed through the app is InCalculate.
If you need formal controller details (such as a registered entity name and address), please contact us using the details in Section 11 and we will provide them.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: With trusted providers like Supabase who help operate the app, under strict confidentiality agreements
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy protections
6. Cookies and Local Storage
InCalculate uses:
- Session storage: Short-lived browser data including calculator drafts (stored as plain JSON for the tab session; not separately encrypted by the app beyond what the browser provides) and other session-only caches
- Authentication tokens: To keep you signed in securely (HTTP-only cookies managed by Supabase Auth where applicable)
- Essential first-party cookies: For example, session refresh, security checks, and (where needed) short-lived client-readable flags used only to keep the app working safely — not for advertising
- Local storage: To remember journey progress, tool configuration cache, and similar preferences on your device (for example cookie-notice dismissal)
When you first visit the site, you may see a short cookie notice at the bottom of the screen. It describes essential cookies and links to this policy. If you dismiss the notice, we store a small value in local storage (for example ic-cookie-notice-dismissed) so we do not show it again on that browser.
We do not use advertising or third-party marketing tracking cookies in the product experience described here. If we add optional analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before enabling them.
6.1 International data transfers
InCalculate uses service providers (such as Supabase) that may process or store data in data centers located outside your state or country, depending on service configuration and availability. When data is transferred, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as contractual protections with providers) and that access is restricted to what is necessary to operate the service.
6.2 Lawful basis / purpose limitation
We process personal information only for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on the context and applicable law, our processing may be based on one or more of the following:
- To provide the service (for example, account creation, saving history, exporting/deleting data)
- Legitimate interests (for example, preventing abuse, keeping the app secure, improving performance)
- Consent (for any optional communications or optional tracking, if introduced in the future)
- Legal obligations (where required)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in InCalculate
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data using Profile → Data & privacy → Download my data (JSON), or contact us for assistance
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (same screen)
You may also contact us at the email address in Section 11 for additional requests (for example if you cannot access your account).
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Calculator session data that is not saved to your account is not retained after your session ends.
Usage analytics: When enabled, we may automatically delete analytics_events older than 24 months via a scheduled job (see SECURITY.md in the repository). This does not delete your saved calculation history unless you remove it or delete your account.
8.1 Security incidents (DPDP awareness)
If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will take appropriate steps, including notifying you and relevant supervisory authorities, where required by applicable law (such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in India).
8.2 Grievance / complaints (India)
If you have a grievance or complaint related to personal data processing, you can contact us using the details in Section 11. We will make reasonable efforts to acknowledge and respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children's Privacy
InCalculate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via a notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
Continued use of InCalculate after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
